Scavenger Hunt

When I first heard about scavenger hunts, I thought what a fun idea and
what a great way to show you this beautiful town where I live.
(The idea of a hunt being you have a list of things to find,  photograph and then share.
It's fun seeing how everyone interprets what to find!)

Thank you to Greenthumb at Made with Love for organizing this one and for letting me join in.

This is what we had to find for March:

green:
Site of pre-revolutionary meetings
and one of the oldest town halls in America still in continuous use.
3:
Circles on a road sign - "traffic light ahead".
a person in uniform:
Mailman Steve, our lovely postman who lives up to the unofficial postal motto:
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night
stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds."

bubbles:
This was a tricky one!
I looked around town and nothing struck me but
then out for dinner with the family and my four year old said, "look, bubbles!"

shoes:
Shoe display hints at the arrival of warmer weather
(I'm not quite ready to give up my socks and boots yet!)
toys:
A wonderful place to find gifts and for little ones to spend their pocket money.
(and film set location last summer for "Grown Ups 2")
eggs:
Love these soft hues on this beautiful wreath spotted on a front door.
dessert:
Baked by a local bakery, shared with friends over the weekend,
the creamy butter icing and layers of vanilla sponge
made this a special dessert.

water:
Looking across the water towards old town.
a bridge:
Taken out of the water for the winter,
in a few weeks time these bridges and docks will be ready to go back in.
Summer swimming and boating beckons...

empty:
It looks like white sand but
it's actually about 4ft of snow and too cold to be out playing!

And that's my first attempt at a scavenger hunt!
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed hunting around my town.
Do take a look here to see what others found.
There are some lovely bloggers sharing their beautiful photographs.
Look forward to doing it again for April...

x Tanya

  3. Lovely pictures, and a great way to show your area. Many years ago (1978 to be precise) I and my then husband and 2 small children visited my (then) in-laws, an English couple who had been moved to Dover NH for work, we had a lovely month in New England, my favourite place was York beach, and if I remember correctly it had grey sand. I'm really looking forward to seeing your photos next month.
